Are Universal Sport Mags magazine really free?
Yes. And they always will be.

How do you manage to offer the magazine for free – nothing is free.
Remember that with Digital, we eliminate the 2 biggest costs of conventional magazines; namely print and distribution (although our web-based mags should not replace your fix for print mags)… Our expenses to produce each issue remain the same; no matter how many subscribers we have. Our revenue is therefore generated from advertising alone.

Do we get each issue if we haven’t subscribed?
No – You will only receive your monthly issue if you have subscribed. Subscription is simple – all you need to do is fill in the short form on our home page (www.universalsportmags.com) and click subscribe. You will then receive an email each month giving you the link to the latest issue. We need you to subscribe in order to calculate our advertising rates.

How do you make money if the magazine is free?
We offer reputable companies the opportunity to advertise their businesses in the magazine, newsletter and website – so our job is to offer a high quality product. Our advertising rates are directly related to the amount of subscribers we have. That’s why we need you to send the magazine to your mates… We give you an awesome free magazine; you help us grow by telling your mates (word of mouth), our advertisers score because they are able to advertise their products to the golf market through a new age 21st century advertising medium…

What category would you put your magazine into in terms of an “advertising medium”
A systematic digital advertising medium. As a reader would flip through the pages, your advert is bound to be seen. If your advert catches the readers’ eye as they browse through the magazine, they will click on it and be directed to your website. It’s a combination between print magazines (look and feel) and website (online based).

What advertising opportunities are there with Universal Golf?
If you are looking to reach golfers that have internet access with the intention of inviting potential clients to your website, this magazine is perfect for you. You can advertise in the mag itself, on our home page banners, in our monthly newsletter or on the subscription confirmation page that our readers receive. No. The magazine just happens to be published in South Africa, but the content is made suitable to an international audience; hence “Universal”

Answer: Yes. In fact, we are very grateful to those who do and we encourage it. As you know, we generate no income from subscriptions. So your effort is greatly appreciated; both by us and your friends.
